Our New Graduate Nurses Transition Programme (NGNTP), has been developed to provide opportunities for graduate nurses to strengthen both their theoretical and clinical skills. The program guides and assists fresh graduates to successfully transition from the world on campus to become a professional clinical practitioner ready to work as a nurse in the real-world.
Many nurses in Australia find it hard to secure a new graduate position after finishing university as they may have missed some learning opportunities with their placement allocations.
Our New Graduate Nurses Transition Programme, bridges that gap by improving your academic knowledge and practical skills in Australia. Our placement opportunities will allow you to gain hands-on experience as a new graduate nurse to assist in obtaining employment as a Registered Nurse in the future.
This program offers an intensive week of education in classroom and hospital laboratory settings, followed by a 3-week placement during which you will gain valuable nursing experience in facilities such as acute care hospitals, aged care facilities and community care settings. Our intensive training will equip you with the necessary skills to excel in their nursing career.
Your placement will allow you to gain practical experience and employer references that will assist with finding job opportunities following this course. IHM works with many healthcare facilities around Australia and has developed an extensive network of partners that make available the required placements and experiences needed for new graduate nurses.
IHM considers you an ‘International’ student if you are not a citizen or permanent resident of Australia; not a citizen of New Zealand; or not a permanent humanitarian visa holder.
